United Mission to Nepal is looking for a new Executive Director to lead UMN into the next stage of its development within the exciting and challenging context of Nepal.

United Mission to Nepal (UMN) strives to address root causes of poverty as it serves the people of Nepal in the Name and Spirit of Jesus Christ. Established in 1954, UMN is a cooperative effort between the people of Nepal and a large number of Christian organisations from 16 countries on 4 continents. Multicultural
teams of Nepali nationals and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organisations in less developed areas of the country, building partnerships that lead to healthy, strong and empowered individuals, families, and communities. UMN also operates two Hospitals in the east and west of the country that provide high quality, holistic care, particularly to those who cannot afford it elsewhere.

Based in Kathmandu, the Executive Director will:

Provide overall leadership to the organisation accountable to the UMN Board of Trustees, including providing a mature spiritual climate within which UMN’s work will operate and encouraging spiritual and professional growth among the staff.

• Oversee the management of the organisation, ensuring it achieves its strategic objectives while continuing to develop the organisation’s sustainability in a context of change, complexity and ambiguity in Nepal and globally.
• Communicate, embody and promote the vision, mission and values of the organisation; and
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders both locally and internationally, including the Government of Nepal and supporting donors.
• Work with UMN Supporting Partners and other current and new funding sources to raise funds and develop the facilities and partnerships necessary to fulfil UMN’s Vision, Mission and strategy.
