Tearfund is looking for an International Program Officer

(2yr fixed term contract, part time (0.8 FTE))

About the role

When you are successful in this role, you’ll have the joy of...

  • Developing a strong and supportive relationship with staff of Tearfund’s Christian partners working in often extremely challenging situations.
  • Participating with local Christian partners as they develop their own capacity to work effectively in bringing about positive change in communities living with poverty.
  • Seeing growth in your own skills and practice as you are challenged to support partners in a constantly changing operating environment.

This part time (0.8) fixed 2 year term role will play a critical part in Tearfund’s mission to support community based Christian organisations working to see an end to poverty and injustice.

Is this you? To be successful in this role, you will have;

  • Good development practice
  • Excellent project administration skills
  • Experience working with project management systems.
  • Skills in program design and implementation including management of compliance obligations and related systems.
  • Ability to engage with multiple partners and stakeholders and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing demands.
  • Experience living in a developing country.
  • Experience working effectively across cultures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to create reports.
  • A sound understanding of Tearfund and commitment to working towards ending poverty, challenging inequality and building sustainable communities.
  • Willingness to travel up to eight weeks per year to sometimes challenging locations.
  • Relevant qualifications.

Position Location

Blackburn, Melbourne (ideally). COVIDSafe office requirements apply.
