TEARLink is a weekend retreat for Christians (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to gather together to support and encourage each other.
Location: Riyala Retreat Centre 255e Elizabeth Valley Rd Noonamah NT
Together, we will:
- Share experiences and reflect with those who understand;
- Share wisdom and learnings;
- Celebrate and lament;
- Strengthen networks for on-going support and friendship;
- Seek rest and spiritual refreshment;
- Identify and reflect on emerging themes.
The retreat will be led by Barbara Deutschmann and Marjorie Quinn. Barbara worked for many years with TEAR Australia in international development and the First Peoples support program. In retirement she cares for family, maintains an active interest in Indigenous peoples, and researches in the area of gender in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Marjorie has long been a volunteer with TEAR’s International and First Peoples support programs. After decades of work in Social Work and Community Development she is now retired and busy with family, local church and various justice and development initiatives, including in the Top End.
