How Your Money is Used

When you give to Tearfund Australia, your funding is allocated towards a more just and compassionate world in three main ways:

1. Programs: Investments in life-changing projects through Tearfund Australia’s partners

We allocate funding to local Christian agencies around the world that are working to address the root-causes of poverty and marginalisation. Priority is given to projects that work to improve rights, interests, needs and capacities of the poorest and most marginalised people around the globe.

2. Discipleship and engagement with the Australian church

We believe that God calls all his followers to pursue justice as they live out their faith. We allocate a portion of each gift to support our engagement and discipleship with the Australian church as we walk alongside churches and with Australian Christians to understand and incorporate principles of Biblical justice in their own lives.

3. Fundraising & Administration

A small amount from each donation is also allocated to help Tearfund steward our funds wisely and to build a sustainable organisation for the future.

Memberships & Accreditation

• Tearfund Australia is fully accredited with The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) which manages the Australian Government's overseas aid program, and
• Tearfund Australia is a signatory to the Australian Council For International Development Code of Conduct.
• Tearfund Australia is a registered charity with The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The ACNC is the independent national regulator of charities.
• Tearfund Australia is a member of Integral Alliance - an alliance of 22 Christian aid and development agencies who collaborate to provide effective responses to major humanitarian emergencies.
