In 2024 Tearfund developed a new Stretch RAP, which has been endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. This new RAP is Tearfund’s framework for realising our vision for reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from 2024-2028, centring on the pillars of Respect, Relationships, and Opportunities.

Tearfund is committed to working in a respectful way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations and communities. Tearfund aims to facilitate and support the raising of awareness, understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait cultures and peoples amongst our supporter base. Tearfund aims to equip and mobilise Australian Christians and the wider Australian community to work towards a more just and equitable Australian society. Internally, Tearfund aims to create an inclusive workplace where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are understood, respected and valued.
Tearfund has been in the RAP program since 2009 and our organisational responses to reconciliation have grown over that time, with our RAPs having an important function in deepening our commitment to reconciliation. Although Tearfund has been on a reconciliation journey for some years now, we recognise we still have some way to go. We encourage you to read our RAP and see what we aim to achieve in the coming years. You may also want to consider developing a RAP for the organisation you work with.
