The global crises of recent years have stalled progress in reducing extreme poverty. People who were taking steps out of poverty have found themselves thrust back into its relentless cycle.
Every single day, the work of Tearfund’s partners is evidence that the cycle of poverty can be broken, and pathways of hope and possibility can be opened up. Driven by hope, they are coming alongside communities to make a way where there appears to be none.
“It would be hard for me to be sent to school … if changing the cultural mindsets of our community didn’t take place. The training and formation of girls’ clubs by ACROSS has really equipped us with skills and knowledge that enable us to have courage to complete primary school and go for further studies for our bright future.”
– Mary, a school student who has been trained by ACROSS to support other girls to stay at school.
