Campaign
Imagine a table with room for everyone. Where all are welcome to share in God's abundant provision.
In Australia, we experience this abundance in many ways. We are one of the safest, healthiest, and wealthiest countries in the world. Yet today, Australia's aid contribution has fallen to use 0.65% of the Federal Budget – far below what we can, and should, be contributing.
Aid is a vital ingredient in ending poverty and tackling injustice. But around the world, many nations are turning inward, forgetting their most vulnerable neighbours.
Two decades of progress fighting infectious diseases, empowering women and girls and building education and economic prosperity stalled when the Pandemic hit.
Now, overlapping challenges are hitting all at once.
Decisions made by this generation can put the world back on the path to progress, peace and prosperity.
Aid is a vital ingredient in ending poverty and tackling injustice. But around the world, many nations are turning inward, forgetting their most vulnerable neighbours.
As part of the Safer World for All Campaign, Tearfund is working with churches, communities, and everyday Australians to call on our government to restore Australian Aid to 1% of the Federal Budget.
As Christians, we are empowered in Christ to step out in faith, hope and love to bring transformation in the face of overwhelming challenges.
Tearfund is joining with Micah Australia and others to tell our leaders: Australian Christians Support Australian Aid.
Add your name to the recipe and call on our government to restore Australian Aid to 1% — for a safer world for all.
Sign Tearfund’s digital recipe card and, if you wish, add your ingredient for a safer world for all.
Tearfund will then collate and deliver the card to our political decision makers in key electorates around the country.
What would you add to the recipe for a safer world?

— Sam Fagan
“Programs that strengthen peacebuilding, creating pathways for unity instead of conflict and division.”
— Emma Wyndham Chalmers
“Increased support for girls to attend primary and secondary education.”
— Ben Howes
