The question we need to constantly be asking is: Are we really making a difference?
With this question in mind our team travelled with filmmaker Daniel Wieckmann from Kintaro Studios to visit a project run by Tearfund's partner Share and Care working in the impoverished Nuwakot Valley in Nepal. The project was coming to an end after six years and our team were eager to see whether it had made a difference in the families and communities there.
What they found has now been made into Tearfund Australia's latest feature film: Release – Good development in Nepal. This is a story that will inspire. A story that needs to be viewed and shared and one that will have a lasting impact on you and your community. View a preview below, or download and share.
The documentary follows the story of three Nepali families, who, through the support and care of Tearfund’s local Christian partner, set out to imagine and overcome barriers of poverty, caste, disability and isolation in pursuit of freedom.
Bringing together high quality film making, beautifully told story telling and accompanied with terrific Small Group resources, Release is designed to suit all audiences. Release - powerfully demonstrates the transforming impact of good development and directly engages with important questions about the effectiveness and difference aid can make. Release helps us to imagine what ‘freedom to those made captive’ looks like in the modern world. Release is a story that needs to be told.
