Churches
Reconciliation is not a destination, it’s a journey of action. It is not just something that we talk about during Reconciliation Week but an integral part of our faith.
In Australia we use the word reconciliation to describe efforts to work towards a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those who have come after, live in a just and equitable society.
As followers of Jesus, we know it is God who makes reconciliation possible. In fact reconciliation with God, and then flowing from that, with one another and with the whole of creation is central to the story and work of salvation.
It is also the work and ministry that God hands over to us to continue (2 Corinthians 5:11-21).
